Indian Damascus is located right behind the Axis Bank at Chetak Circle. It’s a busy part of town, so there is always a lot of noise from the rickshaws and motorbikes outside. We work with metal mostly, so there is a lot of grinding and polishing going on throughout the day. The shop isn't much to look at from the outside, just a plain door and a small window. Inside, it’s usually a bit of a mess with metal shavings and tools lying around. We try to sweep up every evening, but by the next morning, it’s back to how it was. Being behind the bank is actually quite convenient for people to find us. We don't spend money on big ads or anything like that. We just do the work and hope people like what they see. Sometimes the heat from the forge makes the whole place feel like an oven, especially in May. We’ve been here for a good while, and most of the other shop owners nearby know us by name. It’s a basic setup, nothing corporate or polished about it. We just use our hands and the old machines we've had for years. If you’re looking for us, just walk around the side of the bank and look for the sign that’s slightly peeling off. We’re usually there from morning until the sun goes down.
