Okkalumithra Farmer Producer Company Limited is located at Siddeswara Nilaya. You can find us right behind the Reliance petrol bunk in Sira, which is in the Tumkur district. Being behind a petrol pump means it’s always a bit busy and noisy with vehicles coming and going. Our office isn't anything fancy, just a room where we keep our files and meet with the local farmers. We focus on the people around Sira who are growing crops and need a bit of help getting things to market. We started this because we saw a need for a local group to handle these things. It’s a lot of manual work and tracking numbers on paper. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who grew up around here. Sometimes the internet is slow or the power goes out, but we manage. We aren't here to give sales pitches. We just talk to the farmers, see what they have, and try to find a way to move it. It’s a very hands-on kind of business. The name Okkalumithra means friend of the farmer, and that’s what we try to be in a very basic way. We spend our days answering the phone and talking to people who drop by. It’s just a normal job for us in Sira, and we take it as it comes without too much complaining about the heat or the long hours.
