You’ll find us on the main road in Kunnathur, which is part of the Arani area in Tamil Nadu. It is a busy stretch of road, especially in the mornings when everyone is heading to work or school. Our college has been a fixture here for a bit, and we’ve got quite a few buildings spread out. Most of the women who study here come from the surrounding villages, taking the local buses that drop them off right near the gate. It’s a lot of walking back and forth between classes, and the sun can be really strong in this part of the state. We have some trees that provide shade, which is where everyone tends to hang out during the lunch break. The offices are usually piled high with paperwork and old registers because we still do a lot of things the old-fashioned way. It’s not a quiet place by any means, with the sound of traffic from the main road always humming in the background. The staff room is usually full of people grading papers or drinking tea between their lectures. We don't have any of those shiny glass walls you see in city colleges, just regular brick and mortar that stays cool enough. It’s a practical place for learning and just getting on with the day. Everyone knows everyone else's business after a while, which is just how it is in a place like Arani. It works for us.
