Govt Higher Secondary School

The traffic on Sh-9 never really stops, so you can always hear the trucks and cars passing by Govt Higher Secondary School. It’s right on the Thirukoilure Tiruvannamalai Road, which makes it easy for the kids to get here, even if it’s a bit noisy. The building is one of those older ones that has been standing for years. We have high ceilings and heavy doors that bang shut if there’s a breeze. Sometimes the monkeys come around from the nearby trees, and we have to make sure the windows are closed so they don't grab anyone's lunch. It’s a pretty basic place. We have a dusty ground where the students play during the break, and the water taps are always a bit leaky. The teachers sit in a common room that’s always a bit cramped with notebooks and registers. We don't have anything too modern, just the usual blackboards and chalk that gets all over your clothes. It’s just a regular school life here. Some days are long, especially when it’s hot outside, but we just get on with the work. The locals know where we are because of the big tree near the entrance. It’s been a part of this road for a long time now. We just do our thing every day without making a big fuss about it. There is always a lot of cleaning to do, but we manage somehow.
