Out here in Thennarasampattu, life moves at its own pace. Sri Vari College Of Education has been part of this landscape in Tiruvannamalai for some time. We are mostly focused on training folks who want to become teachers. It’s a pretty straightforward setup. The campus is located in a spot that’s easy enough for people from the surrounding villages to reach. We have classrooms, some books, and a lot of students who are trying to get their degrees. Tamil Nadu has a lot of schools, so there is always a need for people who know how to teach. Our days start early and end when the sun goes down over the hills. You’ll find us mostly busy with paperwork or sitting in lectures. The staff here are locals, mostly. We know the families around here. It isn't a high-pressure environment, just a place where people come to study and move forward with their lives. Sometimes the power goes out, or it gets a bit dusty, but that’s just how it is. We don't put on airs. The building serves its purpose and the students seem to appreciate having a place nearby to study. Tiruvannamalai is a spiritual place for many, and we try to keep that quiet energy in our halls. We just keep the doors open and the schedules running as well as we can. It’s a job we take seriously, even if we don't talk about it in fancy ways.
