We have been running things here at No 718 on the Mth Road for a long time. It is a busy spot in Mannurpet, and if you know Padi, you know how much traffic passes by every single day. Most of the time it is just us here, organizing the stock and making sure things are where they should be. The shop isn't fancy or anything like those big showrooms you see in the city center. It is just a practical space filled with the tools people actually use for work. Sometimes the rain gets a bit heavy and the road gets messy, but we still open up at the usual time. My cousin helped me paint the sign a few years back and it’s starting to fade a little, but everyone around here knows who we are. We get a lot of regulars who just stop by for a quick chat or to see if we have a specific part they can't find elsewhere. It’s mostly about knowing the equipment inside out. We don’t spend much time on the computer or doing fancy paperwork. Most of the day is spent handling the items and talking to the folks who walk through the door. It gets hot in the afternoons, so the fan is always going. It is a simple way of making a living, and being part of this local patch of Padi feels right to us.
