Down in Kakkalur, at the Electrical Industrial Estate, things are usually pretty loud. That’s just the nature of making automobile components. We are located at Dp-20, and if you’ve ever been to this part of Thiruvallur, you know it’s a lot of metal and machines. At S.P. Engineers Autotech India Pvt Ltd, we don’t spend much time sitting around. There is always a machine running or someone checking a part for a customer. The air smells like oil and iron most days, which is fine once you get used to it. Our team is mostly local folks who have been doing this for years. We aren't interested in making things look pretty for a catalog; we just want the parts to fit and work like they are supposed to. It’s a straightforward shop. Tamil Nadu has a lot of these industrial pockets, and we are just one of the ones tucked away in Kakkalur. The weather gets incredibly humid, which makes the work hard, but the fans keep things moving. We take our breaks, have some tea, and then get back to the lathes or the presses. It’s honest work that doesn’t need a lot of explaining. We’ve been here long enough that the neighbors know us, and we know exactly how the machines are going to behave on a Monday morning compared to a Friday afternoon. Just regular people doing a job.
