Sree Sivasakthi Traders

Our place is at No 2/841 on Anna Nagar Street, which is part of the Gandhi Nagar area in Kanakkampalayam. It’s a local neighborhood where everyone seems to know what everyone else is doing. We operate Sree Sivasakthi Traders out of a ground-floor space that opens right onto the street. During the day, we get a lot of people passing by on their way to Perumanallur, and sometimes they stop in just to say hello or ask about something in the window. The shop isn't very large, so we have to be careful about how we stack the bags and boxes so there’s still a path to the back. We have a small ceiling fan that wobbles a bit when it’s on the high setting, but it helps when the afternoon sun hits the front of the building. Most of our work involves checking the stock that comes in from the local suppliers and making sure the orders for the regulars are ready to go. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who handle everything from the cleaning to the accounts. Sometimes the invoices get a little disorganized on the desk, but we eventually find what we’re looking for. It’s a simple way of living and working, without any of the big city rush or complicated systems. We just open up the doors every morning, put out the signs, and wait for the day’s business to start in our little corner of Gandhi Nagar.
