Our shop is on Cutchery Street in Avinashi, right where all the action happens near the Cheyur Road crossing. If you walk in, the first thing you notice is the sound of metal hitting metal. We sell all kinds of vessels and pots, mostly made of stainless steel and brass. They are stacked all the way to the ceiling, and sometimes it feels like a puzzle trying to get a large pot down from the top shelf. We’ve been here at No. 10/114 for years. The building is older, and the floors have seen a lot of people walking over them. We spend a lot of time polishing the surfaces because the dust from the street likes to settle on the shiny metal. It’s a local place where families come when they are setting up a new kitchen or getting ready for a wedding. We don't have fancy lights or anything, just the usual tube lights that flicker once in a while. In the afternoons, when the sun hits the street, it gets a bit warm inside because of all the metal reflecting the light. We keep a small stool near the counter for when things are quiet, but usually, someone is asking for a specific size of tiffin box or a heavy frying pan. It’s a simple life here. We know the other shopkeepers on the street and we see the same faces every day. It is just a normal vessel shop.
