You will find L R G Women Government Arts College on Palladam Road in Renganatha Puram. Being a government institution, we don’t have all the shiny things the private colleges have, but we’ve got history. The building has been here for decades. The halls are wide and they stay cool even when it’s hot outside. We have many women who come from the nearby rural areas to get their degrees here. The atmosphere is generally quite calm, except for when classes let out and everyone is heading to the gate at once. We have a lot of old wooden furniture that’s been around as long as the staff has. Our office is usually full of files and ledgers because we still do a lot of things the old-fashioned way. Renganatha Puram is a decent place to be, and the road outside is always busy with buses and lorries going toward Palladam. We don’t have a big marketing budget or anything like that. We just provide the space and the classes. Most of us have worked here for years and we know the quirks of the building, like which doors stick in the rain. It’s a practical place for learning and it serves the community well enough. We don't try to be something we aren't, and the students seem to appreciate that. It's just a place to get an education without any unnecessary fuss.
