Rahmania Higher Secondary School

You can find us at No 92 C on Nethaji Road in Melapalayam, which is in Tirunelveli. It is a higher secondary school so we have the older students who are getting ready for college. The building is tucked away in a busy street where there are shops and plenty of people moving around. Inside the gate, things are a bit more orderly with students going to their respective classrooms. We have high ceilings and large windows to let in the air because Tirunelveli can get quite warm. The teachers spend their day explaining lessons and checking notebooks. There is a lot of focus on the science and math subjects because that is what many students are interested in. During the break, the courtyard fills up with noise as everyone takes a rest from their books. We have a small library and some lab equipment for the practical sessions. It is not a place with luxury but it provides the space needed for education to happen. Many of our students live in the Melapalayam area and walk or cycle to school every morning. We have been a part of this street for many years and people recognize the school uniform when they see it. It is just a regular school where we work hard to keep the students on track with their studies day after day. We just keep going.
