Avk International Residential School

Our school is located right on Rajapalayam Main Road in Sankarankovil. Being on the main road means it is easy for buses to find us, but it also means there is a bit of traffic noise during the peak hours. We have students who stay here in the dorms since we are a residential school. It is a big responsibility, looking after kids day and night, but we have a solid system in place. The rooms are basic but comfortable enough for the students to rest. We have a routine that we stick to, starting early in the morning with breakfast and then going straight into the classes. Tirunelveli can get quite warm in the summer months, so we try to keep the hallways airy with the windows open. The grounds have some space for the kids to run around after their evening tea. It isn't a five-star hotel, it is just a school, so things are functional and practical. We have a kitchen staff that cooks three meals a day for everyone. Sometimes the kids complain about the vegetables, but that is just how it is with school food everywhere. The teachers mostly live nearby or on-site too, so we spend a lot of time together. It feels like a small village inside the gates. Parents come by on visiting days, and the main road gets packed with cars then. We have been at this address for a good number of years.
