Annai Meenakshi College Of Education is on the second floor of a building at 122 A/2 on Trivandrum Road. Being in Palayamkottai means we are in a very central part of Tirunelveli. It’s a busy street, so there is always the sound of traffic coming through the windows. Since we are on the second floor, there are a lot of stairs to climb every morning, which is good exercise I suppose. The college is dedicated to training people to become teachers, so we have a lot of students who are very focused on their studies. The classrooms are simple with basic chairs and whiteboards. Our office is small and usually has a few teachers sitting around talking about their lesson plans. The 627002 area is well-connected, so students can easily get here by bus from different parts of the city. We don’t have a big campus with fields, just the floor of the building where we do all our work. It can get a bit hot in the afternoons, but we have enough fans to keep the air moving. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that; you usually just walk in and find whoever you need to talk to. It’s a very informal and practical environment where everyone knows each other. We just keep things moving and make sure the students have what they need for their training. It is a straightforward place for learning how to teach.
