Our shop is down in the SIDCO Industrial Estate, in the A2-Unit. If you know the estate, you know it’s mostly just rows of units and a lot of trucks moving around. It gets pretty loud during the day with all the machines running. We do CNC engineering, so there is always the sound of metal being worked on. It’s a dusty place, but that’s just how it is in an industrial area. We don’t have a fancy lobby or anything. You just walk in and you’re pretty much in the middle of the workspace. We’ve got our machines set up and we spend most of the day making parts and checking measurements. It is just what we do here. The heat can get a bit much in the summer months because the unit doesn’t have much airflow, but we make do with some big fans. We’ve been in SIDCO for a long time now. Most of the guys here have grease on their hands by ten in the morning. We don’t talk much about corporate goals or anything, we just focus on getting the specs right on the lathe or the mill. If you’re looking for us, just follow the main road into the estate and look for the A2 sign. It’s a practical place for practical people. Not much for looks, but it gets the job done. We just keep the machinery running and try to stay on top of the orders that come through each week.
