Down in the Sidco Industrial Estate in Thuvakudi, you’ll find us at units 51 and 52. It’s a pretty standard engineering setup where we spend most of our hours. The machines make a lot of noise, but that’s just how it is when you’re working with metal and parts all day long. We’ve got a team of people who’ve been doing this for a long time. They know how to handle the lathes and the drills without much fuss. The estate is always busy with trucks and other workshops nearby doing their own thing. It’s not the cleanest job in the world, you get some grease on your hands, but we like the work. We mostly focus on getting the orders finished on time so the next batch can come in. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings by noon, and then we clear it up and start again. Thuvakudi is an area where everyone is doing some kind of industrial work, so we fit right in. We don’t spend much time on the office side of things unless we have to. Most of the action is out where the tools are. It’s a practical life. We have been in these two plots for quite some time now, and we know the neighbors well. If the power goes out, we just wait it out or fix what we can. It’s just how a workshop runs.
