Govt. Nursing College

Our place is over at the New Govt College site in Thrissur. If you know the area, it is not too far from the main parts of town, but it feels a bit different being a government spot. We have a lot of students here who are training to become nurses, so you see a lot of white uniforms and people carrying heavy books around. The building itself is quite solid, typical for a government building in Kerala, with those wide hallways that stay a bit cooler when it gets really hot outside. During the monsoon, the rain hits the roof pretty hard and you can barely hear yourself talk in the corridors. We have different rooms for the practical lessons and the theory parts. It is not a quiet library type of place; there is always someone moving around or a group talking about their clinical postings. We have a routine that everyone follows, starting early and finishing late most days. The furniture is mostly wooden desks and chairs that have been here for a bit, but they work fine. We don't spend much time worrying about the decor. Our focus is just on the daily schedule and making sure the students know what they are supposed to be doing. It is a busy environment, and sometimes it gets a bit crowded in the common areas, but we manage.
