We are located at 4/89, Main Road in Vilakkudi. This is in the Thiruthuraipoondi Taluka of the Thiruvarur district. Vilakkudi Farmers Producer Company Limited is a local effort through and through. Thiruvarur is known for its green fields, and we are right in the heart of that. Our office is a small place on the Main Road, nothing too special to look at. We have a couple of desks and some chairs where the farmers sit and talk about the water levels or the price of grain. It’s a very local vibe here; we all speak the same way and worry about the same things. The building has been there for years, and we just use it to keep our collective organized. Being on the Main Road in Vilakkudi makes us easy to reach for anyone in the Taluka. We don’t spend money on fancy decorations because that’s not what we’re about. We’re here to handle the business side of things so the farmers can focus on their land. It’s a lot of counting, a lot of recording, and plenty of tea to keep us going. We stay open late sometimes when the season is changing and there is a lot to get through. Tamil Nadu 614715 is our home base, and we’re just here doing the everyday work that comes with being part of a farming community. It is a slow process, but we keep at it.
