We operate as the Delta Vadavur Agriculturist Welfare Farmer Producer Company Limited. Our office is located at 10/13/A on Rajan Street in Thenpathy. This area has a lot of history with farming, especially being in the Delta region. A lot of us grew up with mud on our boots and the smell of the fields in the morning. We put this company together because welfare for the farmers around here was starting to feel like an afterthought. When you’re just one person with a few acres, it’s hard to get a fair shake. We use our space on Rajan Street to figure out how to get better supplies for everyone and where to send the produce once it’s harvested. It’s a practical setup. The building is just a regular spot on a regular street, nothing that stands out too much. We spend a lot of time talking to the local growers about their problems, like water issues or pests that are moving through the crops. It's not always smooth sailing. We have arguments about the best way to handle things, but we usually figure it out over some tea. Our focus is really just on the day-to-day survival of the farms in Thenpathy and the surrounding areas. We stay busy with the logistics of moving goods and making sure people get paid what they should. It’s honest work and we take it one season at a time.
