Travancore Inland Fish Farmers Producer Company Limited is based out of a small room in Shahanas Manzil. We are located in Balaramapuram, right on Thekkekulam Edavazhi. It’s mostly just a few of us who know a lot about fish farming in the inland ponds around here. Dealing with water and fish takes up most of our time. It’s not a desk job really, though we have Room No.6/997 for the books and meetings. We started this because the local fish farmers needed a way to coordinate better. Some days the humidity is quite high and we just keep the fans running. We talk to people who have their own ponds and try to help get things moved to the market. It’s a lot of practical work. We don’t have a big fancy sign or anything. The address is easy to find if you know the Balaramapuram P O area. We just deal with what is in front of us. Sometimes the fish don't grow as fast as we'd like, but that's just how it goes with nature. We aren't trying to be some huge corporation. We are just local people working with what we have in the water. Most of our meetings happen while we're standing by the ponds anyway. It's a simple way of doing things. We just want to keep the local fish business steady for everyone involved.
