Kadali Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our group is located over at Temple Junction in Vilappilsala, sharing space with the Cissa Foundation people. We are a collection of farmers from the local area who decided to band together. The name Kadali comes from the variety of banana that we all know so well around here. It’s a staple in our gardens and farms. We aren't a huge corporation or anything like that, just neighbors trying to help each other out with crops and getting things to market. Often, you’ll find us meeting up at the office to discuss the rain or why the yields were lower this month. It’s honest work, getting your hands in the dirt every single day. Being at Temple Junction makes it easy for folks to drop by when they are in town for errands. We handle the business side of things so the individual farmers can focus on their land. Some days the paperwork piles up, but we get through it. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment, just the basics and a lot of knowledge passed down through families. It’s important to us that the farming traditions in Vilappilsala don’t just fade away as things change. We just keep at it, season after season, making sure the Kadali stays a part of what we do here. It's a simple life, but it keeps the community connected through the soil and the harvests we bring in. We mostly just talk about the weather and the prices these days.
