We set up Thottappally Harvest Hub Private Limited a few years back. Our main spot is in Nandancode, over at 10 B Choice Heights Apartments. It is right in the Kowdiar P O area of Thiruvananthapuram. Being in an apartment for a harvest business might seem a bit odd to some people, but it is where we handle all the paperwork and coordination. The city is busy, but we find it’s a good central point to reach the different farms we work with. My small team and I spend most of our mornings on the phone or tracking shipments. We aren't some massive corporation with a big lobby. It is just a few of us in an office room surrounded by files and coffee cups. We started this because we saw a gap in how local harvests were being moved around. It felt like someone needed to step in and organize the logistics better. Some days are stressful when trucks are late or the weather turns bad in the south. We don't have fancy titles or a polished way of speaking. We just tell it like it is. The traffic in Thiruvananthapuram can be quite a headache when we are trying to get to meetings on time. We just want to make sure the food gets from the ground to the market without getting stuck. It’s simple, honest work that keeps us very busy all year round.
