Our place is called Akkottu Veedu, located in Sarkara, Chirayinkeezhu P.O. This is where the Chirayinkeezhu Farmer Producer Company Limited gets its work done. If you know the Sarkara temple, we aren't too far from there. It is a very local operation, rooted right here in the village. We handle all sorts of farming matters for the people around Chirayinkeezhu. The building itself is an old house that we’ve turned into an office space. It has a bit of character, with high ceilings and some old-fashioned windows that let the light in. We aren't some modern firm with a big budget and shiny signs. We’re just a group of people who care about how things are grown in this part of the district. Every day, someone new drops by with a question or a bit of news from their fields. We spend a lot of time on the veranda just talking things through. It’s a relaxed atmosphere, though we do get our work done. We don't have a mission statement or a fancy philosophy. We just want to help the farmers get their produce to where it needs to go without too much trouble. Sometimes we run out of ink or the phone line acts up, but we always find a way to fix it. It’s just how things are in a small town. We are proud to be here in Sarkara, doing what we can for our neighbors.
