Arunamalai College Of Education is located in a quiet spot called Kumarapuram, which is near Mannargudi. This part of Tamil Nadu is very green, with lots of fields and trees surrounding the area. The college is where people go when they want to become teachers. It’s a simple building that sits back from the main road, so it’s actually quite peaceful most of the time. We have several classrooms and a small library that stays pretty quiet. The students here are mostly young adults from the surrounding villages who travel in every day. The building is painted in plain colors and we try to keep it as tidy as possible, though the dust from the rural roads always finds its way in. We have a small staff room where the professors drink coffee and talk about the schedule. There isn't much to do in the immediate area, so the focus stays on the books and the training. It’s the kind of place where you hear the birds outside while the teacher is speaking. We don't have any big corporate signs or expensive decorations. Everything is very basic and functional. We just provide the space and the books for the students to get their education degrees. It’s a steady, calm environment where the days go by slowly but everyone stays busy with their work.
