Our workshop is over at Plot No 34 in the Kalpataru Industrial Estate. If you’ve ever been to Kolshet Road, you know the traffic can be a bit much in the evenings. We’ve been set up here in Dhokali for a long time now. Thane West has changed a lot since we first opened the doors. Inside the shop, it’s mostly the sound of metal being cut and the bright flashes of welding. It gets pretty hot during the summer months, but we just keep the fans going and drink plenty of water. We make all sorts of stuff out of metal at Unity Fabricators Pvt. Ltd. Sometimes it’s big frames and other times it’s small bits for buildings. We don't have a big front office or anything like that. If you want to talk to us, you usually have to find someone on the floor who isn't wearing a welding mask. Most of the guys have been with us for five or ten years, so we’re a pretty tight group. We eat lunch together in the small area out back. It’s messy work, and by the end of the day, everyone is covered in dust and metal shavings. But seeing a finished piece loaded onto a truck makes the effort worth it. We just focus on doing the job right so the customer doesn't have to come back and complain. It’s a simple way to run a business, but it has worked for us for years.
