Smarna Brothers is based in Bhiwandi, over at the Gopal Krishna Society. We’re on the ground floor, which is handy because we’re always moving stuff in and out. Bhagwan Mahavir Road can be quite a mess with all the trucks and traffic, but that’s Bhiwandi for you. It’s a big hub for warehouses and infrastructure, so we’re right where we need to be. We handle infra work, which means a lot of time spent on the road and at sites. The office isn’t much to look at, just a place for us to keep our records and have a cup of tea between jobs. We’re a family-run kind of thing, mostly. We don't have a big corporate hierarchy. If there's a problem, we just talk it out and fix it. We know the roads and the areas around Thane quite well by now. It’s hard work, and the dust from the construction sites follows us back to the office most days. We don't bother with fancy brochures or expensive ads. Word of mouth is how we mostly get our jobs. People in the area know us and they know we show up when we say we will. It’s a practical business for practical people. We’ve been at this for a while and we plan to stay around. The 342/A-2 spot is where we do all our thinking. When the monsoon hits, the road outside gets really muddy, but we just put on our boots and keep going.
