R.K. Hair Cutting Saloon

R.K. Hair Cutting Saloon is located at Shop No.13 on the Bhiwandi Road in Balkum. It’s a small place right next to the ICICI ATM which is helpful for people to find us. Thane is always growing and this road is always packed with traffic. Our shop is just a typical local saloon where men come to get a quick trim or a shave. We have the old-style barber chairs that are still very comfortable. There’s usually a newspaper lying around for people to read while they wait. We have a big mirror that covers almost the whole wall so it makes the shop look a bit bigger than it really is. The floor is just simple stone and we keep a bucket for the used towels. We’ve been here for years and have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. Many of our customers have been coming since they were kids and now they bring their own sons. We don't do any of those expensive treatments you see in the city malls. It’s just straight razor shaves and standard haircuts here. Sometimes we play the radio quietly in the background. It’s a small business but it keeps us busy from morning till night. We take a break in the afternoon when it's quiet and then stay open until the last customer leaves. That is just how we do things every day on this road.
