Akash Hair Cutting Saloon

We run this hair cutting saloon out of the Gaganbhahari Apartment in Chinchpada. It’s located in Kalyan East, not too far from Model College. It’s a modest little shop where we spend our hours with the comb and scissors. We don't have any big posters or loud music, just the usual sounds of a local barber shop. The space is small, so things can get a bit tight when there are three or four people waiting for their turn. We try to keep the place clean, sweeping up the hair after every person, but on a busy day, it’s a constant battle. The residents of the apartment and the nearby students make up most of our customers. We aren't trying to be a fancy stylist shop; we just give regular haircuts to regular people. Sometimes we talk about cricket or what’s happening in the neighborhood while we work. The mirrors are old and the lighting is just okay, but it gets the job done. We’ve been here in Chinchpada for a while now and we like the familiar faces that come through the door. It’s a simple way to spend the day, and we appreciate the people who choose to come to us instead of the bigger places. We open up the shop, sharpen our tools, and wait for the first customer. It's just life in Kalyan East. It’s not a complicated business but it keeps us busy from morning to night. We make sure the razors are clean and the towels are ready.
