Indubhai Parekh School Of Architecture

Our school, the Indubhai Parekh School of Architecture, is tucked away in Garden Estate, off Pokhran Road Number 02 in Thane West. It’s a bit of a trek from the main station but it’s a nice enough area. We’ve got students coming in and out at all hours, usually carrying big boards or rolls of paper. The office is at 8/304, which is just a regular part of the complex. It isn't a huge campus like the ones you see in movies. It’s more of a close-knit place where everyone knows each other’s names. We spend a lot of time fixing the printers or moving desks around to make more space for projects. Being in Mumbai, or at least the Thane side of it, means space is always tight. We make do with what we have. Sometimes the air conditioning plays up and we have to open all the windows. You can hear the traffic from Pokhran Road if it’s a busy afternoon. It’s a place for learning, but it feels more like a workshop most days. We don't have a big fancy reception. Usually, you just walk in and find someone at a desk. We’ve been here for a while now, watching the trees in Garden Estate grow taller. It’s a good spot for us. Sometimes the students leave their models in the hallway and we have to step over them to get to the water cooler. It’s a bit messy but it shows people are actually working hard.
