Down at J-54 in the M.I.D.C. Tarapur area, you’ll find us at Hebei Xinguang Carton Machinery Manufacture co. Ltd. It’s a heavy industrial zone, so it’s always loud with trucks and machines from the neighboring plots. Our place is a large shed where we keep the machinery. It gets quite hot in the afternoons under the tin roof, so we keep the big fans running all day. We deal with a lot of iron and heavy parts. There’s usually a bit of grease on the floor and our hands are rarely clean. We’ve been operating out of this Tarapur spot for quite some time. It’s a busy life here. We don't have a fancy office with carpets; it’s mostly concrete and metal. Most of our guys have been working with these machines for years and they know the sounds each one makes. We spend our time fixing things and making sure the carton machinery is ready to go. The road outside is always full of dust from the construction nearby. We just keep to ourselves and get the orders processed. It’s hard work, and by the end of the shift, everyone is pretty tired. We aren't much for talking, we just prefer to let the work speak for itself. The water cooler is the most popular spot in the workshop during the summer months. We keep a stack of old manuals in the corner just in case we need to look something up. It's a noisy life, but it's a living.
