Gugil

The shop is located out here in Khidkali, right on the Kalyan Shil Road at Desai Naka. It is a busy spot in Dombivli East, mostly because of all the trucks and tankers that roar past all day long. The air is always a bit dusty and the noise is something you just get used to after a week. We open the shutters pretty early, usually when the sun is just coming up and the air is still a bit cool. Most of the day is just spent handling whatever comes through the door. It is a simple place, 8 Khidkali, and we don't have any fancy decorations or air conditioning that works all the time. The floor is made of old stone and it’s seen a lot of feet over the years. We know most of the people who walk by every morning on their way to work. Thane can get really hot in the summer, so we have these old fans that creak a lot but they do the job. We aren't trying to be the biggest or most famous place around. We just want to get the work done and go home to our families at night. Sometimes the rain gets really heavy and the road outside gets flooded, then everything slows down. We just sit back and wait for it to pass. It’s a decent life here, nothing too complicated. We just do our thing and stay out of trouble. Most evenings we just sit and watch the traffic before locking up.
