Diamond Biscuit Company

Our bakery, Diamond Biscuit Company, is located on the 1st floor of the Waco Radio Compound. It’s right in the middle of the industrial area, so there are always trucks and vans moving in and out of the gates. We have been here for a while, and the smell of baking biscuits usually fills the whole hallway by ten in the morning. It’s not a very pretty building, just a standard industrial space with concrete floors and high ceilings. We have our ovens and mixing machines set up in the main room. A few of us get here early to start the first batch so they can cool down before we pack them. The 1st floor can get pretty hot in the summer because of the ovens, but we have some big fans that help a bit. We mostly supply to the local shops around this area. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting heavy bags of flour and sugar, but we enjoy it. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend an afternoon fixing a belt or a motor. We don't have a fancy showroom or a place for people to sit and eat. It’s just a production unit where we focus on getting the biscuits out on time. If you find the Waco Radio Compound, you just head upstairs and you’ll find us. We are usually too busy to chat much, but we get the job done and keep the deliveries moving.
