Desai Nursing College

Desai Nursing College is located on the ground floor of the Krishna Rao Apartment in Badlapur. It’s an interesting setup because we’re right there in a residential building, which makes us very much a part of the local neighborhood here in Thane. We don't have a sprawling campus with big athletic fields. Instead, we have dedicated rooms for our labs and lectures. It’s a bit tight sometimes, especially when we have a full class, but we make it work. Nursing is a tough profession to learn, so we spend a lot of time on the practical stuff. The students are usually busy with their books or practicing their skills in the demo rooms. Being in Badlapur, we get a mix of students from the city and the nearby areas. It feels more like a small community than a big, cold institution. We don’t have fancy promotional videos or corporate slogans. We just teach the students how to take care of people, which is what nursing is all about. The staff here are experienced and they don't sugarcoat how hard the job can be. We have our tea breaks in the small pantry, and often you’ll find students huddled in the corners studying for their next practical exam. It’s a hardworking, unassuming place. We just focus on getting our students ready for the hospitals, one day at a time, right here in the apartment complex without any extra fuss or unnecessary noise from the street.
