Common Effluent Treatment Plant ( Thane Belapur) Association

Our association is based at Plot No P-60 in the Khairane MIDC area, right along the Thane Belapur Road. It’s a very industrial part of the world. We deal with the effluent treatment side of things, which isn't the cleanest or most glamorous job you could have. The site at Khairane is a lot of pipes, tanks, and the smell of chemicals and water being processed. It’s a big responsibility, but we just look at it as a daily task that needs to be managed properly. The office on the plot is functional and a bit old-fashioned. We have maps of the pipelines and a lot of logbooks where we record the levels every day. It’s a group of us who have been around the MIDC for years. We know the roads and the other factories that send their waste here. The traffic on Thane Belapur Road can be a nightmare in the evenings, so we usually try to get our site visits done early. It’s mostly about making sure the pumps are working and the filters aren't clogged. We don't do much in terms of promotion because our work is pretty specific to this area and the industries here. It’s just about keeping the plant running and making sure we follow the basic rules of the association. It’s a lot of walking around the plot in heavy boots and checking gauges in the sun every day.
