Citizen Hotels has its office in Uran, Navi Mumbai. We are on the first floor of the Hariprasad Building in Kotnaka. Uran is a bit different from the main city, it feels a little more laid back but it’s still busy with the port nearby. Our office is where we handle the management side of the hotel business. There’s a lot of ledger books and computer work involved. The building is right in the middle of a busy street, so there’s always something happening outside the window. We have a few desks and some old cabinets filled with files. It’s not a very large office, but it’s enough for what we do. We drink a lot of tea while we go through the accounts. Sometimes we have to travel out to the actual hotel sites, which takes up a good chunk of the day. The commute can be tiring. Back at the office, we mostly deal with the staff schedules and the bills. It’s a lot of boring stuff that people don't really see. We’ve been in this building for quite a while now. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, and the ceiling fan makes a bit of a clicking noise. But we are used to it. It’s just a normal place to work. We don't really try to impress anyone; we just get the daily tasks out of the way so we can go home.
