Bhau Royal Maratha Restaurant

Panch Pakhadi is a nice part of Thane. We are near the Gagangiri society. People live here and they want food that tastes like home. We focus on Maratha styles because that is what we grew up eating. It is a family thing really. My uncle used to cook and then we took over this space near Open House. It is not a fancy place with waiters in suits. We just wear our regular clothes and get to work. The kitchen is always steaming. We buy our spices from the local market. Nothing comes in pre-packed bags from some factory. If you stand near the door, you can smell the masala frying. Thane West is always moving, but inside our walls, things are a bit slower. We take our time with the gravies. Sometimes a customer has to wait a bit longer, but they do not mind usually. They know we are back there doing it by hand. We have a few tables that have been here since we opened. The paint is a bit old in the corners, but the stove is always clean. We like being part of this neighborhood. Seeing the same faces every week makes it worth it. We do not have a big marketing plan. We just open the shutters and see who comes in today. It is a royal name but we are just regular folks.
