Balaji Handlooms

The shop is at number 15 in Ulhasnagar No 2. People usually find us easily because we are right near Nehru Chowk. It’s a busy area and things can get a bit loud outside. Balaji Handlooms has been here for years now. We have a lot of different fabrics and things for the home. Mostly we sell bedsheets and curtains and some towels. The space isn’t very big, so we have stuff stacked up quite high. You have to look through the piles to find what you want sometimes. It’s just how we do things here. My family helps out at the counter. Sometimes we are busy in the mornings when the market opens up. We try to keep things simple. If you are coming from the main road, just head toward Nehru Chowk and you will see the sign. It’s an old building but it works for us. We don't have bright lights or anything. Just the regular fans. People come from all over Thane to get their home stuff from this part of town. It takes a bit of time to show everything to everyone. We don’t mind. Some days are slow and we just sit and talk to the neighbors. Ulhasnagar has a lot of shops like ours but we’ve stayed here at Shop 15 for a long time. It’s a good spot. We open early most days. That’s about it really. Just a local handloom shop in a busy market.
