About Abbhinnay Acting Academy – Education in Thane
Up on the first floor here in Jogeshwari West, specifically rooms 409 and 410 on 7th Main, you’ll find us. It’s usually quite a mess with scripts lying around and people practicing their lines in the corners. We took over these two units because one just wasn’t enough when we had more than five people trying to move around. The 409 side is mostly where we keep the bags and have a seat, while 410 is where the actual acting happens. The floor is just plain tiles, nothing special, so it gets a bit cold in the winters. You can hear the traffic from the main road if the windows are open, which they usually are because it gets stuffy. There’s a big mirror we put up ourselves that’s a bit tilted, but it does the job for checking posture. We aren’t some big studio with lights and cameras everywhere. It’s just a place to practice at Abbhinnay Acting Academy. Sometimes the students bring tea from the stall downstairs and we all take a break. The walls are painted a off-white color that needs a touch-up soon. Dealing with the 7th Main traffic is the hardest part of getting here on time. We don't have a big sign, just a small board near the entrance of the floor. It feels like a second home to some of the regulars who stay late trying to get a scene right. We keep the scripts in cardboard boxes under the table and the keys are always with the boy downstairs.
