We are over on North Street in Thiruvettanallur. The address is 4/111 if you are looking for us. We are part of the larger Puliyangudi and Sankarankoil area. Vasudevanallur Farmers Producer Company is basically just a group of us who have been farming these lands for generations. We decided it was time to put our names on a piece of paper and call it a company. It makes the paperwork easier when we go to the bank or the market. Most of our day is spent outdoors. We grow things like lemons and other crops that do well in this soil. It’s a lot of sweat and hoping for the best. We meet up at the house on North Street to talk about prices. Sometimes we argue about which way is best, but we always figure it out. We aren't some big city outfit. We are just regular guys who know how to drive a tractor and when to prune the trees. The town is small enough that everyone knows who we are. We don't need a sign on the door really. We just want to keep the farms running so our kids have something later on. It’s honest work. It isn't always profitable, and some years are really lean, but we stick together. That’s the only way to survive out here.
