Thenpothigai Collective Farming Farmers Producer Company Limited is located over at 3 4 53 Sivan Kovil Street in Kilankadu. We are just a bunch of neighbors who decided to join forces. Farming is tough work, and it doesn't get any easier as the years go by. We thought if we worked together as a producer company, we might have a better shot at staying profitable. Most of our days are spent out in the fields around Kilankadu. We don't have much of a formal setup. Our meetings usually happen standing up or sitting under a tree somewhere. We talk about what seeds to buy or how to get the harvest to the market without spending too much on transport. It is all very practical stuff. We don't have any fancy brochures or websites. What you see is what you get. We are just farmers trying to make a living. Some days the sun is too hot, and some days the rain won't stop, but we just keep going. Having the collective means we can share our tools and our knowledge. If someone discovers a better way to do something, we all learn about it. It’s a good way to live and work. We are just trying to keep our community strong and our farms producing something worth selling. It takes a lot of effort, but we are in it together for the long haul.
