Sundram Fasteners Ltd.

This is the Sundram Fasteners Ltd. location on Poonnamallee High Road in Velappanchavadi. It is a busy stretch of road and we are right in the middle of all that activity. Our building handles a lot of nuts, bolts, and other small metal parts that go into cars and machines. If you walk into the main area, it sounds like a lot of clinking and metal hitting metal. We have big bins filled with thousands of parts waiting to be sorted or shipped out. The ceilings are high and we use forklifts to move the heavy pallets around. It’s not a quiet place to work, but we are used to the noise of the machinery. Our uniforms usually have a bit of oil on them by the end of a shift. We have a small area where we keep our logs and paperwork, but mostly we are on the floor checking the quality of the fasteners. The heat from the machines can be intense during the summer months. We drink a lot of water from the cooler in the corner. There are people coming and going all day, from delivery drivers to technicians. We’ve been operating here on High Road for a long time. It’s a practical environment where we just focus on getting the orders right and checking the bins. We don't worry about decorations; we just keep the machines running and the parts moving. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but it needs to get done.
