Madambakkam Batteries

Madambakkam Batteries is located at No. 1 on the 4th Cross in Gokul Nagar. We are just off the Madambakkam Main Road, so it is easy to find us if you are in the area. We deal with all sorts of batteries, mostly for cars and home power backups. Batteries are heavy, so there is a lot of lifting and moving things around on trolleys throughout the day. The shop has that distinct smell of lead and plastic. It is not a glamorous job, but it is necessary work. We have stacks of old batteries in the corner waiting to be picked up for recycling. Our space is functional, with a counter at the front and charging stations in the back. Sometimes the chargers hum all night long. We get a lot of locals coming in when their car won't start in the morning or when the power goes out and their inverter fails. We try to be helpful and explain why a battery might not be holding a charge anymore. It is just a few of us working here, often with dirty hands from terminals and grease. The Madambakkam area has grown a lot, and we have seen more houses and shops pop up around Gokul Nagar over the years. We just keep doing our thing, making sure the local community has their power needs sorted out. It’s a quiet, steady kind of work that we’ve grown accustomed to. Most days are busy enough to keep us on our toes.
