Lucas-Tvs

Down at Township No.42 on MTH Road in Padi, things move at a steady pace. Lucas-Tvs has been around for quite some time, and you can tell by the way the buildings look. The gates are big and heavy, and there’s always a guard waving people through. Working here means getting used to the heat, especially during the summer months when the ceiling fans just move the warm air around. The whole area has a bit of an old-school feel to it, being part of the township. We have people coming in for different shifts at all hours, so there’s always someone in the canteen getting a quick bite or a coffee. The walk from the main road isn't too bad, but the dust from the traffic can get on everything if you aren't careful. We don't really have a lot of fancy decorations on the walls, just some old safety posters and a few clocks that don't always show the same time. It’s a large site with a lot of different sections, and sometimes you have to walk quite a bit just to get a message to someone in another department. It feels like a small village sometimes because everyone knows who's who and what’s going on. We just show up, do what needs doing, and try to stay out of the way of the big trucks moving through the lanes. We finish up and head out when the whistle blows and the next group comes in.
