Being near Mini Bazar on Varachha Road means there’s never a quiet moment. Our store is at number 145. We deal mostly in bangles and things like that. It’s a small space, but we pack a lot into it. You can see the colors from the street. Women from all over the area come by, especially when there’s a wedding or a festival coming up. The energy around Mini Bazar is always high. We open early to get things ready before the rush starts. Sometimes the shelves get a bit messy because people like to see everything, but we don't mind. We just tidy up as we go. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so it feels very informal. We talk to everyone like we’ve known them forever. Some of our customers have been coming to us since they were kids. It’s nice to see familiar faces. We don’t have any big mission statements. We just try to have a good variety of kangans so nobody leaves empty-handed. The lights in the shop are bright to show off the glass and metal. It gets hot in the afternoons, but we have a fan that does its job. It’s just a regular store in a busy part of Surat, doing what we do every day without much fuss. We like the noise and the people. It makes the day go by fast when you’re constantly busy with customers.
