Expressions Cards & Gifts is located near Jantanagar, right by the Ring Road. It’s a convenient spot if you’re already out that way, though the traffic can be a real headache sometimes. The shop is filled with rows of greeting cards for every occasion you can think of. We also keep a variety of small gifts and trinkets on the back shelves. It’s a bit cramped inside because we try to stock as much as possible. I’ve noticed that people don’t send cards as much as they used to, but there are still plenty who like to have something physical to give. The noise from the Ring Road is something you just get used to after a week of working here. I usually keep the door propped open if the weather is okay. We get a lot of dust from the road, so I’m always wiping down the card racks. It’s a one-person operation most of the time. I know the people at the nearby shops well, and we often share tea in the afternoons. Sometimes they watch the shop for me if I need to step out for a minute. Jantanagar is a busy neighborhood, so there’s always someone popping in at the last minute for a card. It’s a simple life running a shop like this. No fancy computers or high-tech systems, just me, my inventory, and a cash drawer. It’s been here for years and I hope to keep it going.
