It’s usually pretty quiet over here at Plot No. 27 in the Vardhman Industrial Estate, mostly because we are tucked back behind Vastsalya Hospital. Most people find us after they’ve been wandering around Bhestan or coming from the Ambaji Market Ring Road area. We’ve been in this spot for a while now, and the shop is mostly just rows of shelves filled with whatever we’ve managed to stock that week. Sometimes the dust gets in from the road, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the boxes and the glass cases. My brother helps out on the weekends when it gets busy, but usually, it’s just me sitting near the fan. We don’t have any big signs or fancy lights, just the name Gift World painted out front. People stop by for things like birthday cards or small items for their kids, and we try to keep the inventory decent. The tea stall down the street is where I usually go around four o'clock when things slow down. It’s not a huge place, just a simple shop where we keep track of everything in a big ledger book. Sometimes the delivery trucks block the entrance for a few minutes, but that’s just how it is in the industrial estate. We’ve got a lot of different things piled up, from plastic toys to some glassware, and we try to keep it organized even if it doesn't always stay that way for long.
