Vardhaman Kirana Store

Vardhaman Kirana Store is situated at Plot No 417/418 in the Varsha Society V 1. We are right on Varachha Road in the Hira Baug area of Surat. It is a very busy part of town, especially because we are so close to Gandhi High School. You can always tell when school is letting out because a crowd of students usually wanders by looking for sweets or pens. The traffic on Varachha Road can be quite loud, but we’ve gotten used to the sound of horns and engines over the years. Our shop is where we spend the majority of our waking hours. We are constantly moving stuff around, trying to make room for new stock that arrives on the big trucks. It’s a typical kirana store where things are stacked high. We know where every single item is, even if it looks a bit crowded to someone else. The people from Varsha Society are our main visitors. We see them every day, sometimes twice a day. We don’t have a big team, just a couple of us helping out and managing the cash box. It’s a simple life, really. We focus on keeping the pulses, grains, and oils ready for the local kitchens. The humidity in Surat can be a bit much, but the shop stays relatively cool with the big doors open. We just keep doing our thing, day in and day out, in Hira Baug.
