H. M. H. Metal Industries Surat

Our shop is at G-15 in the Diamond World building. That’s right in the middle of Mangadh Chock. The Mini Bazar area in Varchha is always crowded. It’s the heart of the trade in Surat. You can hear scooters and people talking all day long. Our unit is on the ground floor, so we see everyone passing by. We do a lot of metal work related to jewelry. The shop isn't very big and it’s often a bit messy. Tools are usually sitting out on the benches. We don't have fancy brochures or a website with pretty pictures. If you want to see what we do, you just come to the counter. The floors are made of old tile and they’ve seen a lot of feet over the years. We spend most of our time hunched over our work. The air is thick with the sounds of the market. Sometimes it’s so loud we have to shout to be heard. We know all the other shopkeepers in Diamond World. We often share a tea or talk about how the market is doing. It’s a very local way to work. We don't have a big corporate office. It’s just a shop where we do our trade. Some days are better than others, but we keep the doors open. It’s a busy life here in Varchha, and we’re part of it.
