Our office in Surat is tucked away in Galemandi, which is a very busy and crowded part of the city. Sanket Kapadia and the rest of us here work out of unit 202 in Vatsal Apartment, right opposite the Shubham Medical store in Motisheri. If you know Surat, you know how narrow these streets can be, and getting cement trucks through here is always an adventure. It’s a far cry from the big industrial zones, but we like being right in the middle of where people live and work. The office itself is just an apartment converted into a workspace. It’s a bit tight with all the files and the computer equipment, but it’s home for us during the day. We spend most of our time coordinating with the site supervisors and making sure the Ultratech deliveries don't get stuck in the Surat traffic. The noise from the street is always there, and the humidity in Gujarat can make the office feel a bit stuffy, but we have a good fan. We aren't corporate types; we’re just local people trying to run a reliable supply business. We know the shopkeepers nearby and often grab a snack from the local vendors during our break. It’s a fast-paced environment because Surat is always building something new. We just try to keep up with the demand and make sure our records are accurate at the end of the day.
