Ambuja Cement (Holcim)

We are based at B-16 in the Swagat Apartment complex, which is right near the Sagar Complex and the Mahalaxmi Temple. This is on Anand-Mahal Road in the Adajan area of Surat. It is a very busy part of the city, and having a business like Ambuja Cement (Holcim) in an apartment setting is a bit unique. We don't have a giant warehouse right here; it’s more of an administrative spot where we handle the details. The Mahalaxmi Temple is a big landmark, so people always know where we are. The noise from the traffic on Anand-Mahal Road is constant, and you can always hear the bells from the temple during the prayer times. We spend our day managing the orders for the Surat area. It’s a fast-moving city, and people are always in a hurry. Our office in B-16 is small and a bit crowded with files and samples. We try to keep things organized, but when it gets busy, papers end up everywhere. It’s just a few of us here, drinking tea and making sure the customers in Adajan are getting what they need. We don't have a big fancy lobby or a receptionist. You just walk in and talk to whoever is behind the desk. It’s an honest way to work, right in the heart of a bustling neighborhood, keeping track of the building materials for the local area.
