Anand Sardesai is the main point of contact here. Working in the cement business in Gujarat means dealing with a lot of dust and heavy lifting, but we are used to it by now. The air in the yard is always a bit thick with the smell of construction materials. It’s a local operation, and we don't try to act like we are some huge factory. We supply cement to people in and around Surat who are building houses or fixing up shops. The Rander area is quite old and has its own character, which we really like. Our yard isn't the prettiest place, but it's where the work happens. We spend our days loading bags and talking to drivers. It’s honest, physical work that keeps us busy from morning until evening.
